This is a good audience recording. I like how the audience is mixed in. They were quite electric throughout the whole show. I truly think that the late
...
80`s where an absolute highlight in the history of the GD and this show is a good example. Brent Mydland had an oustanding vocal. He arguably was their best vocalist and keyboard player with an energy that shone exeptionally at thistime. For all those that go on about the shows from the 70`s and how the later periods were inferior. I say that is subjective and overall rubish! When I listen to this, The Hampton shows 88 & 89, MSG 87, their run at the Kaiser, The Frost and The Greek theatres during the late 80`s I`m convinced. As well, the JGB was clocking too with some hot shows that included Clarence Clemmons in 89 not to mention some exeptional early 90`s GD shows with Branford and Hornsby. I generally just don`t hear something that is second rate in that 4-5 year window.
